Happy Birthday Matthew!

Matthew is 7! Oh boy! As we were walking into the toy store, I was holding his hand and he said, "Mom, I am 7! You don't need to hold my hand anymore!" But then he snuggled with me during the superbowl last night so all is not lost.

We had a nice celebration. We brought cupcakes to school on Friday. Thanks to Sherry for these awesome star wars cupcake toppers, they were a huge hit. The kids loved them. Saturday, we watched the slideshow I made for him. We had crepes for breakfast, his favorite. We opened presents. We went to the store to spend our birthday money from Grandma. We ate at McDonalds as a family for dinner. We had cake and ice cream later that night.

We had a little Mario theme going as we had originally planned to take him to the Nintendo store for his birthday. But he said he'd rather have lego games, so we did that instead (easier on everyone than going to NYC). But I still made the mario cake. I had nothing to decorate it with and I wasn't going to pay $8 each for Mario and Luigi figurines. So I used cut out figures from the Super Mario fruit snack box and hooray, no cost cake toppers. I was proud of my effort.

Matthew is such a great kid. He has so much energy. He is willing to try anything. He has eyes that smile all the time. He's a kind friend and super brother. We had so much fun celebrating him!
