Today's headlines
...searching for glutten free recipes and products to feed our missionary who is allergic to glutten. Thank goodness for Liz's blog. Settled on Spaghetti Pie. Now for a little trip to Mrs. Green's tomorrow. And I am so happy no one in my family has allergies!

...Sammy and I spotted the orthodontist and his receptionist at Panera today. Always weird to see someone out of context. But where else are you going to eat lunch? This is Westchester after all.

...Am I too pregnant to do step? I felt it today. It's going to be a long 19 weeks.
Facebook status lines that didn't make the cut
--A trip to radio shack: difficult but so worth it. For the mere price of $7, I can play my iPhone in the car now.
--Thrilled that Sammy bring home 2 apple related art projects from preschool today.
--I am excited about enchilada night!
--I don't know what I will do with my free time after being at the school 4 nights in a row this week. (actually I do--see previous post).
--It's hot and humid today. I thought we were done with this!

Time for TV!
Oh besides the glorious weather, September means it's time for the fall season of television to start. I must admit that I really enjoy watching certain shows. I try and be productive with some kind of project and I tape everything so I can zip through the commercials. But when you are 5 months pregnant and have been running around all day, it's great to have a show or two to look forward to with some Trader Joe's microwave popcorn at the end of the day.
We didn't watch much this summer. I did enjoy Royal Pains this summer. It was on USA and was fun and entertaining.
We watched the Office last week. That was good. Looking forward to 30 Rock. I have watched the first 3 episodes of Glee and like it as well. Grey's Anatomy will be coming this week, and I have seen a spoiler as to who actually lived/died at the season finale. Plus, I really think the Yankees are going to make it to the World Series, so there's lots of baseball to follow. I know I am easily entertained. I am interested in the Good Wife--have it taped for Tuesday. And then there's the Mentalist too! Reality wise, we like Biggest Loser and the Amazing Race.
Mark attended an event last week at Toys R Us in Times Square with cast members from Ugly Betty. That got me excited for Betty's new season. So depending how things work out, I may have to prioritize. But for now, the DVR's set up and we are ready to roll.

Announcement: We have acquired a short stop
Well, come end of January, we will have a complete infield...to add to our first baseman (Josh), second baseman (Matthew) and third baseman (Sammy). The managers are thrilled that this prospect is healthy and developing well. Big sister is not sure yet how she feels about the acquisition, but milkshakes and the thought of her aunt and grandma coming soon have helped. Yankee names (Alex, Derek, Jorge and after last night Nick) not totally out of the question but no final decision will be made until the end of the ninth inning.

Welcome September!
Oh what a nice thing to turn the calendar on this month of August 2009. Goodbye. Don't come back, okay?
First of all, Mark's dad is doing much better. He is awake, alert, talking and joking. He will be transferred to rehab at the end of the week and then begins more intense recovery so he can finally go home. Mark is home tonight and so glad he got to see his dad back to his more or less normal self, especially today.
Last week, I made a list of 11 things that were stressing me out, Tim being at the top. Almost all of these stresses have been reduced or taken away. So grateful for that.
One big stress was finding a OB or midwife that would deliver the baby VBAC. I have had one c-section and 3 VBACs and my current practice changed it's policy and decided not to deliver VBACs at all. I am going back to a midwife practice that delivers at a different hospital that has great VBAC precautions in place and excellent doctors to back them up. So I feel relieved to have this decision made that to feel so comfortable and supported. 5 months to go!
August started off well with a great family reunion. Then we had a birthday party for Caroline and all her cousins at This Is the Place. At the end of the party, I fell off a horse drawn wagon when the horses took off running after they got spooked. Luckily, I was the only one hurt. We spent the afternoon in the ER, my biggest concern being the baby. But we heard a heartbeat then and besides being bruised (HUGE contusion on my thigh and hip) and beat up, I was fine. That was on August 4.
Mark and I did have a great trip to San Francisco in the middle of that, though.
We came home to some horrible hot and humid weather. MISERY. Some of the kids had a virus. We didn't do much. Then, I got sick with a sinus/respiratory infection last week and needed antibiotics (reminding us of the tonsillitis days of last winter! ARGH!) Again, not doing much. Then Tim's stroke happened and boom, let's just say things are definitely looking up for September.
We've got some things planned for Labor Day weekend. We've got a baptism coming up! We've got my mom and sister coming for the baptism. We've got Wicked tickets! We've got the ultrasound! And the first day of school! And a Relief Society overnight retreat. And great weather. Lots to look forward to.
