New glasses
Before school started, Caroline mentioned she wanted new glasses. They are darling and we love them. We didn't get them in time for her first day of school shot, but shortly after. I think she may have been influenced by two of her favorites--her cousin and her friend, who as shown about, have very similar glasses.

Pres. Monson's biography
Happy Day for me! Pres. Monson's biography I ordered came in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to read more of it. Already the introduction and author's note have me so excited. I loved reading Pres. Hinckley's biography. Now just to find some time to sit down with it.
Oh Thomas
Thomas. 8 months old. Super messy. Super cute. Eating solids and finger foods (hence messsy). Teething (2 bottom are in, 2 top coming soon.) Snotty. Crawling everywhere. Got up 2 steps yesterday. Putting everything in his mouth (curse you pincer grasp!). Waves bye-bye. Likes books. Likes kids. Likes Dad. (hooray!). Now awake from nap (bummer).
Stick-to-it-Charts
Yesterday a little bit of happiness for both Matthew and I came to our mailbox. My sister Julie has a company called Stick-to-It Charts. (the website is sticktoitcharts.com). She sent us her new product for Matthew. It's called Stick to It School System.
Matthew is a visual learner so this is perfect for him. It has space for 12 daily jobs which he can easily identify with pictures and reading. He easily has up to 12 things to do each day, including homework and piano practice. It also includes things like scripture reading and personal prayer. Once he's completed the job, he simply moves it over into the completed column. It's brilliant! I ordered one for Caroline too. Everything is laminated and super sturdy. It gives them an idea of what needs to be done during the day and a sense of accomplishment when they've completed it.
My sister, who has 8 kids, is absoultely lovely and brilliant. She writes a darling blog called sticktoitkids.com, since she has kids from age 17 to age 2, she's got something for everyone. She's the first person I call when I have a mothering question or issue. I am so glad she's doing her blog so I can learn from her wisdom every day!
Mockingjay and other entertainments
So I read Hunger Games and Catching Fire like so fast...devoured them. Loved them. I have had Mockingjay for about 6 weeks. Cannot finish it. Have no interest. Page 210 or something. I know what happens at the end (thanks wiki). I just can't do it anymore. But I like finishing things. But, I just can't. I am going to return it to it's owner and that's that. The end. Moving on.
Basically I think I liked Peeta the best and since he's not much in this book, I am a bit bored by it.
The new TV season is upon us and boy that makes me smile. For instance, Glee tonight! Modern Family and the Middle tomorrow night! And you all know my favorites from there. They all seem to be making a good showing. I haven't really picked up any new shows. Mark keeps taping Hawaii 5-0. I would watch it for Jin.
But let me assure you that none of this other entertainment happens until I have spent some time with scriptures. I have now a new scripture progam. 3 weeks have passed since the accident and with the whiplash and burned hand it brought a scrpitural awakening. Really really makes a difference. It's also easy to do by iphone when nursing. It also makes you more prayerful. Good all the way around.

Matthew wouldn't take Motrin yesterday but seems to be feeling better this morning. Jumping on the couch.
Don't show too much excitement when your husband says the trains aren't running. He tried very hard to get into work today and made it. Play it cool next time.
Baby's first war wound...a goose egg on the forehead. Thanks Sam! The wall has dent in it too.
BBQ Pringles at 9:30 a.m. not a good idea.
I wish I had some eggs so we could make a treat today (brownies, cookies, muffins anything!). It's rainy and our school has no power so we are all home (plus Matthew is sick).
Phineas and Ferb--they all love it.
It's only 10 a.m.! At least the baby is napping.
Where's the electrican??? He was supposed to be here an hour ago. Sigh.
