My sad day

Today Sherry called with the news that they bought a new house! Which is very exciting except it's in Connecticut! Which really stinks.

Sherry and I have been close friends since Angus and Josh were in Kindergarten together. The boys have been close friends too and have watched their other friends move. They've been in the same class and the same baseball teams. I knew this move might possibly be coming at some point because they had really outgrown their current house. They could find nothing in the area that was what they wanted. And the move in soon, in December!

Sherry is my backup! Whenever I need someone to help with the kids, she's there. I also coined the phrase "Sherapy." (like therapy). She's always prepared with anything you might need on an outing. She knows about everything and if I have a problem or question, she's usually the first one I call. We always go trick or treating together. We swap for parent -teacher conferences. Any time there's a day off or it's beautiful weather or I need a panera bread fix, Sherry is along for the adventure. Our kids are super compatible.

Lots of friends have come and gone through the years, but this one really hurts. They will only be 30 minutes away, so we can get together on school holidays and such, but it never is quite the same. Like I told her, I am very very happy for her, but so so sad for me, and for Josh too.

Flu stuff

So, I've been officially vaccinated for the swine flu. It just came into the midwives office yesterday and fortunately I had an appointment today. The kids got theirs last week. You would have thought Dr. Ivker was cutting their thumbs off with the amount of crying and drama that went on. I tried to remind them how lucky we were to get it and how so many kids would get sick and feel miserable for weeks, and we wouldn't have to go through that. I should have tried a good bribe instead. (Like on Saturday, you can trick or treating!)

Sammy has been a bit difficult lately so I wondered out loud to Mark if he could get vaccinated for the WHINE flu. Ha ha!

No, but he has canker sores in his mouth...2! That would make me cranky too.
